Four layers, engineered for shielding and durability.

A Faraday enclosure is only as strong as its weakest point.

OffGrid designed the Premium range starting from the internal shielding layer outward: the conductive Vega Wrap fabric stack first, then the protective layer outside the Faraday fabric, then the external structural protective outer. Where most Faraday bags add a shielding layer to a standard design, OffGrid built the design around the shielding parameters.

The result is a quad-layer system where the seal closes the conductive path rather than puncturing it; every join is welded or bonded rather than sewn through the shielding stack.

Water-resistant Diamond Ripstop

The outer shell is durable water-resistant Diamond Ripstop nylon. Protects the bag from daily wear and field conditions. It is not a shielding layer - its job is to keep the conductive stack underneath intact.

Layers 2 + 3 - Core shielding

Dual-bonded Vega Wrap™

The inside has two layers of nickel-copper Vega Wrap™ conductive fabric heat-bonded together to form a single layer. No stitching between them. No gaps in the conductive surface. This is the primary shielding stack that delivers 103dB average attenuation.

Layer 4 - Inner

Vega Wrap™ with polycotton liner

A single Vega Wrap™ layer with a polycotton fabric bonded directly to its inner face. The polycotton sits between your device and the conductive material, protecting both the the Faraday fabric from abrasive wear over time, increasing the longevity of the bag.

Closure system

Single-fold. Magnetic seal.

One fold closes the bag. The magnetic pull behind the velcro ensures the seal makes full contact every time: no partial closures, no user error, no signal gap at the opening.

The shielding performance of OffGrid VegaWrap™ Faraday fabric is independently tested against MIL-STD-188-125-2 and IEEE 299-2006, the same military and engineering standards used to evaluate SCIF construction and military communications security.

Testing was conducted by Keystone Compliance, an accredited independent regulatory compliance laboratory in the USA, and cross-referenced by the Wireless Research Center. Frequency range tested spans 10kHz to 40GHz, with 103dB average attenuation between 10MHz and 10GHz. The data is published and downloadable below.

Why 103dB matters.

A 100dB reduction attenuates signals by a factor of ten billion. At 103dB, no device inside the bag can be reached by remote wipe, pinged for location, or intercepted over any wireless protocol. Filtered Faraday cables typically only allow charging but not data transfer. To access the data on a device inside a Faraday bag, you have to open the bag and break the RF seal.
