About OffGrid

Fifteen years of signal-blocking expertise. Sleek design for everyday carry.

OffGrid is a premium Faraday range, engineered to keep your devices shielded in daily use.

OffGrid products are constructed with at least two layers of proprietary Vega Wrap fabric, a nickel-copper composite delivering an outstanding 103dB attenuation across the full RF spectrum. The same signal isolation engineering used to protect digital forensic evidence by law enforcement, forensic teams and the military.

Vega Wrap is independently tested by Keystone Compliance Laboratory to MIL-STD 188-125 and IEEE 299-2006, the standards required for military use.

Their range includes shielding bags for key fobs, sleek phone, tablet and laptop sleeves, backpacks and duffels, Faraday tents and more.

The Construction

Four layers, engineered for shielding and durability.

A Faraday enclosure is only as strong as its weakest point.

OffGrid designed the Premium range starting from the internal shielding layer outward: the conductive Vega Wrap fabric stack first, then the protective layer outside the Faraday fabric, then the external structural protective outer. Where most Faraday bags add a shielding layer to a standard design, OffGrid built the design around the shielding parameters.

The result is a quad-layer system where the seal closes the conductive path rather than puncturing it; every join is welded or bonded rather than sewn through the shielding stack.

Layer 1 - Outer

Water-resistant Diamond Ripstop

The outer shell is durable water-resistant Diamond Ripstop nylon. Protects the bag from daily wear and field conditions. It is not a shielding layer - its job is to keep the conductive stack underneath intact.

Layers 2 + 3 - Core shielding

Dual-bonded Vega Wrap™

The inside has two layers of nickel-copper Vega Wrap™ conductive fabric heat-bonded together to form a single layer. No stitching between them. No gaps in the conductive surface. This is the primary shielding stack that delivers 103dB average attenuation.

Layer 4 - Inner

Vega Wrap™ with polycotton liner

A single Vega Wrap™ layer with a polycotton fabric bonded directly to its inner face. The polycotton sits between your device and the conductive material, protecting both the the Faraday fabric from abrasive wear over time, increasing the longevity of the bag.

Closure system

Single-fold. Magnetic seal.

One fold closes the bag. The magnetic pull behind the velcro ensures the seal makes full contact every time: no partial closures, no user error, no signal gap at the opening.

Standards and Certification

Published results. Independently tested. Certified.

The shielding performance of OffGrid VegaWrap™ Faraday fabric is independently tested against MIL-STD-188-125-2 and IEEE 299-2006, the same military and engineering standards used to evaluate SCIF construction and military communications security.

Testing was conducted by Keystone Compliance, an accredited independent regulatory compliance laboratory in the USA, and cross-referenced by the Wireless Research Center. Frequency range tested spans 10kHz to 40GHz, with 103dB average attenuation between 10MHz and 10GHz. The data is published and downloadable below.

Average Attenuation

Why 103dB matters.

A 100dB reduction attenuates signals by a factor of ten billion. At 103dB, no device inside the bag can be reached by remote wipe, pinged for location, or intercepted over any wireless protocol. This is the same isolation standard used to protect evidence in criminal investigations. NOTE: 103dB is the average, not the peak.

Who Uses OffGrid

Three reasons to go OffGrid.

Privacy-conscious individuals use OffGrid to block device tracking and contactless card skimming in daily life. EMF sensitive people use OffGrid to reduce their exposure to radiation from their devices. Executives and corporate security teams rely on OffGrid to protect devices with sensitive data during travel, meetings, and incident response. Law enforcement, military, government and forensic agencies use OffGrid in the field and in the lab.

Everyone benefits from the same forensic-grade isolation standard, in sleek modern designs.

PHASE FILTER

The Phase Filter. Charge or transfer data while shielded.

Filtered Faraday cables typically only allow charging but not data transfer. To access the data on a device inside a Faraday bag, you have to open the bag and break the RF seal. The OffGrid Premium Tablet Faraday Bag with Phase Filter solves this problem : a dual-mode toggle switches between charge-only and full USB 2.0 data throughput, with RF isolation maintained. You can keep the device charged and extract data any time while the device remains sealed and shielded. Chain-of-custody is maintained.

Designed for forensics, diplomats, close protection teams, and high-value asset travel. The device stays powered and shielded across long-haul transit, sensitive meetings, and extended deployments.

Dual-mode toggle

Switch between charge-only and USB 2.0 data transfer without removing the device from the bag or compromising signal isolation.

RF-isolated charging

Maintain power during extended operations without breaking signal isolation. The bag stays sealed.

Always shielded

RF isolation is maintained in both modes. The bag is never a signal path.

Extended use

Long travel days, extended meetings, multi-stop operations. Charging maintained without breaking shielding.

Data Protection

Block juice jacking and card skimming.

Public USB charging ports and contactless card terminals present two attack vectors that most people leave undefended. OffGrid's data blockers address both with hardware solutions: no software, no settings, no configuration required.

Hardware protection is absolute. Software solutions can be bypassed. A physical data blocker cannot.

How it works

Hardware-level data isolation.

Data blockers physically disable the data pins in the connector. Power passes through, data cannot - in either direction.

1

Plug the data blocker into any public USB port or charger.

2

Connect your device cable into the blocker.

3

Charge at full speed. Zero data exposure in either direction.
