Silence the signal.
Silence the signature.
Preserve the mission.

EMCON-grade Faraday isolation, counter-UAS containment, field-expedient shielding, and forensic exploitation capability. Our Faraday products are certified to MIL-STD-188-125 and IEEE 299-2006. Stocked in New Zealand.

Operational Doctrine

Six capability areas, inside established doctrine.

Faraday isolation is the personal-device emission control layer inside an EMCON discipline. The products we present on this page have been specifically designed for the military, and slot into established OPSEC, EMSEC, and TSCM postures. Each area below pairs doctrine with equipment.

EMCON
Emission Control
The doctrine of managing RF emissions to prevent adversary detection. Radio silence has been enforced since WWI. Personal devices now sit largely outside traditional COMSEC frameworks.
OPSEC
Operations Security
Protecting operational information from adversary collection. A Faraday bag is an OPSEC tool: it severs the signal pathway to block unauthorised data collection.
EMSEC
Emissions Security
Protecting against intelligence gathered from compromising emissions. The Faraday enclosure is the hardware control inside a broader TEMPEST posture.
SIGNATURE
Signature Management
Reducing the electronic signature of personnel and equipment. Faraday isolation reduces RF signature to zero. Inside the bag, the device is electronically invisible.
TSCM
Technical Surveillance Countermeasures
Detecting and neutralising surveillance. Faraday isolation is a TSCM measure against RF-based collection, alongside active sweeps and physical inspection.
C-UAS
Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Detection, tracking, seizure, and forensic exploitation of hostile drones. Faraday containment is the safe-handling link between seizure and exploitation.

Operational Pathways

CAPTURE TO INTELLIGENCE

Counter-UAS containment & drone intelligence

A downed drone is a live command link, a potential remote trigger, and a geolocation intelligence asset. Flight logs contain launch point coordinates. Waypoints map the operator’s preferred routes. Photo and video EXIF carries GPS stamps. Paired controllers expose the operator’s mobile device. Every minute a captured drone stays connected is a minute the opposition can use to wipe that intelligence or reactivate the aircraft. Containment converts that minute into targeting data on the people who launched it.

Neutralise on the ground
Mission Darkness DroneCloak

Rapid-deploy dome-style Faraday cover in multi-layer TitanRF Flex Faraday Fabric. Deploys in under ten seconds via a 4–12 ft telescoping pole, letting operators place the cloak over a downed drone from standoff distance. Suppresses command, video, telemetry, and remote-trigger signals before the drone can be reactivated, used as a detonation trigger, or used to call in a second-wave asset. Folds like a windshield sunshade for pack transport.

Built for EOD, tactical units, and military response. Operates from standoff distance, without ground power.

FOUR DATA STORES · ONE CAPTURED DRONE
What a captured drone gives up

The data on a captured drone is tactical intelligence in its own right. Launch point GPS, flight path, waypoints, operator controller ID, paired mobile device, cloud-synchronised flight history. One captured drone can populate all four data stores below.

01 · DRONE
Internal flight data
Encrypted DAT files in onboard memory. Flight path, altitude, motor telemetry, battery state, GPS fix history. Decryption requires drone-specific forensic tooling. Newer airframes have moved to internal-only storage, making the forensic window more important.
02 · SD CARD & CAMERA
Media & metadata
Captured photos and video. EXIF metadata tags each image with latitude, longitude, altitude, timestamp, device serial. One drone can carry footage of opposition positions, supply routes, infrastructure.
03 · CONTROLLER & PHONE
Paired mobile device
TXT flight logs stored by DJI Fly, DJI Pilot, or DJI Go. These decrypt more readily than onboard DAT files and often carry the most complete mission record. The paired mobile device is a second forensic target.
04 · CLOUD
Synchronised flight history
DJI Cloud, FlightHub, SkyPixel, and equivalent platforms retain mission history, base locations, and operator identity. Subpoena pathway for law enforcement. Collection target for intelligence.
REMOTE ID · PASSIVE COLLECTION
Since March 2024, drones over 250 g in most regulated airspace broadcast Remote ID: position, velocity, control station location, and timestamp via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth at one-second intervals. A drone you don't capture still gives up its launch point. Passive data collection continues before physical capture is possible.
HOW THE DATA GETS EXTRACTED

A shielded environment, anywhere

Rapid-deploy shielded tent systems

A Faraday tent is a deployable RF-controlled environment that can be erected in minutes wherever signal isolation is needed. Forward operating positions. Sensitive briefing spaces inside non-purpose-built buildings. Forensic exploitation sites. TSCM operations. Anywhere signal isolation is needed and a permanent SCIF is not available, a deployable tent creates a shielded environment within minutes.

We supply two complementary options – OffGrid is the proven, pre-configured option; Mission Darkness CYPHERCYLENT is the modular, configurable option, with multi-vestibule and HEPA-filtered configurations available for sustained occupancy in demanding environments.

Both OffGrid and Mission Darkness Faraday fabrics used in their tents are certified to MIL-STD-188-125 and IEEE 299-2006.

EMP & HEMP survivability, protected transport

EMP and HEMP threats: an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) or high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) event, whether from natural solar activity or a man-made source, can destroy unshielded electronics in a single event. MIL-STD-188-125 is the military certification standard for protection against these events. Mission Darkness and OffGrid Faraday products that use the TitanRf and Vega Wrap Faraday materials are certified to this standard.

Procurement, doctrine, capability

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from procurement officers, operators, and intelligence staff evaluating our digital forensics and Faraday products for defence and law enforcement.

Why should a defence procurement team consider Mission Darkness or OffGrid over an existing supplier?

Two reasons. First, shielding certifications. Both brands manufacture to MIL-STD-188-125 and IEEE 299-2006, with independent Keystone Compliance test reports available.

Second, product breadth. Mission Darkness spans MOLLE pouches through to triple-chamber forensic tents with a full chain-of-custody workflow. OffGrid has a similar range, with it’s tents using the premium VegaWrap Ag Faraday fabric (SILVER over copper over nickel over polyester). Custodi is the Authorised Reseller for both brands in New Zealand.

What is the difference between the OffGrid Faraday Tent and the Mission Darkness CYPHERCYLENT?

Both deliver room-scale RF isolation with impressive dB-certified shielding. OffGrid offers two pre-configured models, as well as custom built sizes to meet your needs. The Mission Darkness CYPHERCYLENT tents are modular: configurable option set, multi-vestibule available, RFMagLink magnetic-only door, HEPA venting option. For standard requirements, choose OffGrid. For more complex or multi-chamber requirements, choose CYPHERCYLENT.

How is BelkaGPT different from other forensic AI tools?

BelkaGPT runs fully on-device. All AI processing stays local to the workstation, so no evidence data leaves the cleared environment. For law enforcement, military, and intelligence work operating in sensitive compartmented spaces, on air-gapped systems, or against chain-of-custody rules that prohibit cloud processing, on-device AI is the required architecture. Belkasoft built BelkaGPT specifically for that use case.

Can the DroneCloak really neutralise a drone in under ten seconds?

Under ten seconds is the deployment time claimed by Mission Darkness for the cloak itself once the operator has closed to pole range. It does not include closing distance to the drone. The capability the product provides is standoff neutralisation of a downed drone: the operator extends the 4–12 ft telescoping pole, drops the dome-style cloak over the aircraft, and suppresses command, video, telemetry, and remote-trigger signals. The drone is neutralised without contact, without powering down the aircraft, and from a safe distance. Further information and product videos are available on the product page.

Are Mission Darkness and OffGrid products Berry Compliant?

Berry Compliance applies to US Department of Defense procurement and specific product lines, requiring that strict high-quality USA-made standards are met. The OffGrid Faraday Tent X-Large is Berry Compliant, and OffGrid offer a range of products made in the USA. Mission Darkness offers custom Berry Compliant versions of their products, including tents, and most of their products are assembled in the USA.

For New Zealand Defence Force, Pacific partner agencies, or coalition procurement where Berry-equivalent sourcing assurance is required, we can supply compliance documentation and quotes on request.

Can products be custom-labelled for a specific unit or agency?

Yes. Mission Darkness offers woven labels applied for bulk orders. Most of their Faraday bags feature a transparent velcro-sealable pocket for business cards, agency markings, or removable identification. OffGrid offers several products that feature a transparent zipper pocket for evidence tags and ID cards. Contact us for a quote.

Do you hold stock in New Zealand?

Most of our range is stocked in country. Larger products, such as the Faraday tents, device charge and storage cabinets, forensic analysis enclosures and equipment, have a manufacturing lead time and are available on request.

What currency do you quote in?

We quote and invoice in NZD, plus GST where applicable. For international procurement, we can quote in USD.
