Recon Faraday DroneCloak - rapid deployment shield for drone signal neutralisation

The Mission Darkness™ DroneCloak is a dome-shaped Faraday cover for rapid containment of disabled hostile drones. Once a drone has been brought down by a scrambler or other countermeasure, the DroneCloak can be deployed from a distance of 3 to 4.5m to quickly isolate the device from all RF signals – blocking remote control signals, data access and any onboard weapon activation. The system is lightweight, packable and designed for use by military, law enforcement and first responder teams.

An extendable pneumatic pole carries the cover into position over the downed drone, and full deployment takes less than 10 seconds. When draped over the drone, the cloak establishes a conductive shield that suppresses radio, cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and telemetry signals, effectively disconnecting all command, video, and remote-trigger functions while inspection of the drone takes place.

Note: The DroneCloak is a drape-style shield rather than a fully sealed Faraday enclosure. Designed for rapid field use, the cloak significantly attenuates control and downlink signals and is effective in typical downed-drone scenarios. For full-seal RF isolation of recovered electronics, pair the DroneCloak with the Mission Darkness™ Recon Faraday Drone Shield or similar products.

Operational Workflow:

  1. Identify and disable – hostile drone is identified and brought down using a drone scrambler or other countermeasure
  2. Deploy from safety – operator extends the pneumatic pole and places the DroneCloak over the downed drone from 3 to 4.5m away
  3. Secure and isolate – once covered, the drone is RF-inert and safe to approach, inspect or remove

Folding Instructions:

The DroneCloak features a flexible frame that allows it to collapse in the same way as a car windshield sunshade. To fold, simply grasp opposite edges and twist the frame into overlapping loops, reducing the full-size dome into a compact circular shape. Once folded, the cloak fits neatly inside the included carrying case, making it easy to store, transport, and deploy in the field. This design keeps the system lightweight and portable without sacrificing deployment speed or shielding performance.
