Faraday bags for phones, tablets, laptops, key fobs and larger kit, from Mission Darkness and OffGrid. Seal a device inside and it drops off every network: cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, RFID and NFC.

Tested shielding

Mission Darkness shielding is tested by Keystone Compliance, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory in the USA, to IEEE 299-2006 and MIL-STD-188-125. The reports are on our Mission Darkness page. NeoLok bags are serialised, so forensic teams can record which bag held which device.

Questions we get asked

Do Faraday bags really work?

A well-made bag, properly closed, blocks the signals a phone depends on. You can check yours in a minute: seal your phone inside and call it. It should not ring. Our guide What is a Faraday bag? covers testing in more depth.

Do I need to switch the device off?

No. A device stays isolated while it is switched on, which is what forensic teams need. Expect the battery to drain faster, because the device keeps searching for a signal. Charge & Shield bags keep it powered while it is isolated.

What are the disadvantages?

A sealed device cannot receive calls or messages, so a bag suits the times you choose to be offline. Closures and fabric wear with heavy use, so test your bag every so often and replace it if it fails. A bag stops signals, not sound: a device inside can still record audio.

Which Faraday bag should I buy?

For a phone you carry every day, the Mission Darkness NeoLok Phone Bag or the OffGrid Premium Faraday Phone Bag. For car keys, the Mission Darkness Key Fob bag. For evidence handling, NeoLok Window and Charge & Shield bags. For travel with several devices, the OffGrid Triple Kit or a Faraday backpack. Buying for a team or an agency? Ask us for a quote.
