Mission Darkness BlockBox Touch - portable forensic RF enclosure

The Mission Darkness™ BlockBox Touch is a collapsible Faraday enclosure with a large interior space, built-in conductive glove and device preview. Designed specifically for law enforcement and military forensic investigators, the BlockBox Touch allows users to interrogate devices and access data at the point of seizure. The enclosure is easy to use, extremely high-shielding, and large enough to accommodate any size tablet or phone, plus accessories such as batteries or data extraction tools.

The BlockBox Touch side walls collapse, and the enclosure folds into a compact size and fits inside the included carrying case.

The Faraday chamber uses the patented NeoLok™ closure system, allowing an operator to effortlessly close the chamber by way of a double roll and strong neodymium magnetic seal holding the roll in place. A quick-snap strap over the roll provides extra security, which is especially useful if transporting shielded devices between locations, such as from the collection site to the lab. This type of closure is preferred for forensic use as the Faraday chamber can be easily opened with a glove. The magnetic closure increases the product’s overall longevity, compared to Faraday enclosures built with Velcro which can damage gloves and wear out with frequent use due to “hard pulling” on the closure area.

Serialised:  Each BlockBox has a unique serial number for asset tracking and evidence chain-of-custody documentation.

RF Isolation & Shielding:

  • TitanRF™ Faraday Fabric is certified by Keystone Compliance to MIL STD 188-125 (shields against High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulses) and IEEE 299-2006 (effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding)
  • Blocks all RF signals including WiFi (2.4 to 5GHz), Bluetooth, Cellular (including 5G), GPS, RFID, NFC, and radio signals from low MHz to 40GHz, with ~90dB+ average attenuation

Usage Warning:  The Faraday fabric on the inside and the conductive gloves will become defective with extended water contact or any punctures – do not insert wet devices, or items with sharp edges inside the BlockBox. All Faraday fabrics wear out over time – the BlockBox and gloves should be regularly checked to ensure they continue to adequately shield.

If charging of devices is required, consider the BlockBox Touch USB which includes a USB filter and cable set.
